Objectives

Experience shows that children and young people need to spent time outdoors in nature, doing various activities, reflecting and learning, playing games and practicing sports. The mission of our organisation is to restore and strengthen young people's relationship with nature. We in Natural Explorers believe that this relationship is vital for the growth and development of every young person – for developing awareness of interconnection and interdependence, for gaining confidence and self-confidence, self-worth and inner peace, learning skills. Through their relationship with nature, young people understand their place as part of the world around them. This project is important for us because it gives us the opportunity to share and communicate the values we teach young people on several levels - local, national and European - and reach out to wider and diverse circles of people. The purpose of the project is to stimulate young people's personal and professional development by providing them with space and experience in nature that will help them learn about nature and the importance of their relationship with nature, explore the processes of learning in a natural environment, as well as their interaction and interconnection with nature, with others and with themselves, and also express and share messages. "The Nature of Learning" focuses on the issue of young people's need for nature. The project offers an opportunity for them to find their way to nature, to develop the ability to find it and to create a stronger and better relationship with it in a urban environment as well. The main methodology on which the project is based is "Learning through experience". We believe that these are fundamental and that their development helps young people find their way in life, become aware of the part the play in society and of their role as a catalyst for change, and realise the responsibility they have as citizens. The project will provide a good environment for growing self-awareness, for facing personal and group challenges, as well as for exploring cultural diversity that will enable recognizing and accepting differences and maintaining a unified community. The objectives outline the steps alone the path : - Focusing on the skills of observation, self-observation, reflection and interaction - with nature, with others, with oneself; - Providing a space and means to explore learning processes and to identify learning styles and ways of learning; - Helping become familiar with outdoor activities - canoeing, mountain biking, rope garden, transition, camping; - Skills acquisition and raising young people's awareness and skills for going in the mountains - handling equipment, orienteering, physiology, nutrition and others; - Focusing on the expression of experience and knowledge through various artistic means. "The Nature of Learning" directly reflects the objectives of the Erasmus+ program and the K1 key youth activity in that it focuses on developing different key competences and skills of young people, including those who have fewer opportunities, in order to help them become successful on a social and personal level. This includes young people's participation in the labour market and their participation in the democratic life of Europe, their active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity.
