Needs and goals in the field of science teaching: - to create another area of the school with extended teaching by developing science teaching, - we want to focus the introduction of the CLIL method at the second stage of primary school on these subjects (natural history, geography and others), - to a greater extent to transfer teaching to the real natural environment - to the school garden, to the city, to nature. Montessori teaching needs and goals: - apply new knowledge in existing lower grades to further improve teaching; - prepare lessons at the second level (ie from 6th to 9th class).

Background

We are a school with extended language teaching. However, this means constant care for deepening the qualifications of the teaching staff, a high level of language competences of teachers is very important. They take part in many language and methodological courses in the Czechia and we supplement them with language education abroad. According to current possibilities, we also involve native speakers in the teaching. At the second stage of primary school, we are introducing CLIL teaching. We want to extend the CLIL method to a larger number of subjects in all 2nd grade classes. One of the strengths of our school is the teaching of science subjects, which is confirmed by the excellent results in the student olympiads. In addition to extended language teaching, we want to significantly profile the school in the field of science teaching. Through international cooperation and professional courses abroad, we want to obtain further ideas for improving teaching and at the same time increase the language skills of teachers in the field of professional terminology. For the fourth year, we have been teaching in designated classes using Montessori teaching methods. We also need in-service teacher training in this area.
