Our main goal was to enrich education in our school through active and motivated teachers. To reach the goal we had to: 1) develop methodical competences of foreign language teachers – the teachers completed courses focused on methods which helped them get higher quality of school lessons. All the teachers appreciated the opportunity to be in the role of a pupil, and to be able to look at the process from the other point of view. 2) develop language and special competences of IT teachers – they had an opportunity to exchange experience with their colleagues from different countries, they learned a lot about new IT technologies, applications, skills, as more – they improved their knowledge of English, which is the most frequent language used in programming. 3) develop new skills and obtain experience from abroad in the field of drama education – the teacher got an opportunity to compare drama lessons in the Czech Republic and abroad, she applied new methods and forms of work, and she brought a lot of educational materials for better quality drama lessons.
We have always tried to involve our teachers in lifelong learning scheme as well as in some activities which could improve the quality of lessons for our pupils and students, and make those lessons more attractive. Some European and local projects helped us a lot as they initiated significant changes in the way of thinking of some teachers as well as their attitude to lifelong training. All mentioned above improved the atmosphere of the lessons in our school, as the teachers, pupils and students became more active and the lessons more interesting for everybody. We had the idea of pushing the borders of our activities but originally we didn´t have enough experience from abroad to manage it. This was our reason to file the teachers´ training project for the first time. We wanted to send some motivated teachers to language courses abroad as they need to get knowledge also from foreign materials, sources. The participants of the courses received a lot of useful experience which they passed to the other teachers and motivated them.
