Our focus was to bring change to three areas identified as crucial by the school management: a) revision of the School with the aim to strenghten the area of ICT and robotics in order to support our students who choose this area for their vocational education and a future profession, and at the same time to improve the quality and individualization of education by more effective use of ICT tools; výšili kvalitu a individualizaci výuky žáků efektivnějším využíváním ICT nástrojů; b) improvement of language competences of the pedagogical staff, mainly of theaching assistants working with students of lower secondary school classes, and c) learning of new methodologies for activisation of students with more serious and combined handicaps in cognitive, motor and social areas.
Our school educates students with a wide range of serious special educational needs. Those needs demand from their teachers and teaching assistants an active approach to lifelong education and continuous profesional development, so that we can effectively react to the individual educational needs of our students and help them to overcome their handicaps and support them in reaching their full potential. Due to the specifics of our work and based on our past experiences, we saw as very convenient to gain new competences and experiences also through job-shadowings in schools outside of the Czech educational system and learn methodologies successfully used abroad.
