1st aim: To increase professional knowledge of nursing students by carrying out work stays; gaining the theoretical and practical knowledge about different way of treatment and nursing procedures while taking care of a patient as they are applied abroad. 2nd aim: To increase the knowledge about the role of a teacher supervising students in hospitals during their hospital training – tasks, the extent of supervision over the students, competence 3rd aim: To be able to organize the foreign stay without using the services of various foreign agencies; involving only the teachers of our and partner school
The main motivation for carrying out this project is increasing professional knowledge of nursing students; moreover this project will improve the students´ and teachers´ theoretical and practical knowledge of various nursing procedures as they are performed abroad. As we have carried out several foreign stays, we are aware of the fact that some nursing procedures differ in various parts of the EU. These differences concern for example administering injections, infusions, transfusions, catheterization, way of disinfecting etc. In addition, there are different requirements on the nurses in different countries (regarding their look, work regime, competence) and there are differences in nursing care in various countries. During their foreign work stays, our students were able to experience the way the nursing procedures are carried out abroad. Based on this experience, the students are able to compare the way these procedures are carried out in foreign country and in the CR. The teacher accompanying the students has learnt about how much foreign students are supervised in their hospital training and what ways of checking and controlling are applied as well as what other measures are taken in foreign hospitals.
