Objectives

The project's main goal was to implement quality short-term student mobility in 4 European countries (Ireland, Malta, Germany, and Estonia) and in 3 foreign languages taught at our school. During their professional practice abroad, students acquired or strengthened professional and critical competencies and gained an essential basis for success in the European labor market and society. Foreign mobilities took place in companies, organizations, and public institutions and became a source of knowledge for improving the professional level of teaching at our school. Several teachers were involved in the project. Therefore, we met the goal of strengthening the project team's management skills and expanding CLIL teaching. For hard-working students in the field of Information Technology, we managed to achieve the possibility of dual practice in the Czech Republic and abroad. Mobility participants were exposed to many crises in which they had to prove their independence, responsible approach, and flexibility in decision-making, simply what is now fashionable called soft skills.

Background

The purpose of this short-term student mobility project was to build on a similar and very successful project from the Call for Proposals 2017. The students of our school seek and welcome participation in foreign professional practice. Implementing the mobility project is also of great importance to our school. It is an essential point in the school's internationalization strategy, with a direct positive impact on students and teachers, school management, and other employees. After all, the need for a professionally and linguistically educated workforce with experience of working in an international team and a multicultural environment using fluent foreign language communication is what a united Europe needs. Nowadays, in difficult times, we have to face the external destructive pressures and the demands of a labor market changing because of the climate crisis and adaptation requirements.
