Objectives

Through the implementation of the project, we wanted to achieve the following goals for students and masters of vocational training: a) development of professional skills in CNC machines with Siemens/Sinumerik programming language, laser, and water jet cutting, support for professional growth of both students and teachers b) to acquaint pupils with new teaching possibilities, dual education system and other work techniques c) development of soft skills not only for pupils but also for pedagogical staff, such as entrepreneurship, independence, responsible approach, ability to move and communicate independently in a foreign country (d) to promote language learning for pupils and teachers, who will often provide them with better employment. e) to increase the motivation of masters of vocational training and especially of pupils because it seems to us that pupils lack motivation and visions for the future The whole project was focused on innovation, gaining new knowledge, and an effort to develop, which is an "alpha omega" for 21st- century engineers. In our view, all the above mobility objectives have been met and, according to the final reports, pupils and teachers are truly aware that the traineeship has had a positive effect on their professional and language development and that the trainees have increased their chances of finding better employment in the future, and better placed in the labor market.

Background

Our grant application was submitted in January 2019. In 2018, GJP and SOŠ Slavičín started cooperating with the Fachberufsschule in Wolfsberg. The only downside was the funding we needed for the proposed mobility, so we decided to write an Erasmus + KA1 project with the Austrian school. N. Aichholzer supported us in writing the project and guaranteed us the acceptance of our students and staff in a joint contract. GJP and SOŠ Slavičín wanted to support the European School Development Plan focused on international cooperation within the EU, enable students to get acquainted with the international labor market, other work techniques, more modern machines, and technologies, increase the competitiveness of our students in the labor market and improve them in foreign languages. At the same time, our school wanted to respond to the growing demands of companies and enable students to become highly qualified employees, which was reflected in the then long-term plan for education and development of the Czech education system in 2015-2020 and the regional action plan for education. Technologies in manufacturing companies are constantly changing, modernizing, and the school often lags behind the needs of practice with its technical equipment. For this reason, we wanted to support students in a positive approach to innovation and new techniques in the field of CNC machine programming, teach them to work with injection molding machines, CNC machines in the Siemens / Sinumerik programming language, enable them to try working abroad, actively use a foreign language and Last but not least, develop your soft skills. Neighboring companies now require other programming languages such as Siemens / Sinumerik. When we found out that the Fachberufsschule has this programming language for CNC machines, we decided to write a JVU, which was focused on the Siemens / Sinumerik programming language. The principals of both participating schools agreed to comply with the European ECVET system, with which the Austrian schoo,l in particular, had a very good experience. For pedagogical staff, the goal was set to expand their professional competencies. GJP A SOŠ Slavičín plans to expand the number of CNC machines in workshop spaces with the Siemens / Sinumerik programming language. The Fachberufsschule was well equipped with these CNC machines with this programming language and offered us the training of our masters of professional training in the Siemens programming language and to acquaint our masters with water jet cutting, which our school welcomed. For masters of vocational training, the internship was a huge opportunity to expand their professional competencies.
