The aim of the project was to strengthen and improve the skills, abilities, and knowledge of the learners, and to contribute to their professional and personal growth. Key for us were topics that our students cannot experience on our school farm or in our region, so they gained a general overview not only in agricultural production but also in farm management. Another priority of the internship was to improve the language skills of the students. In the family-like environment of the organic farm, the students engaged in discussions with the owners and found it easier to talk, thus improving their English conversation considerably and learning Italian words at the same time. The Spanish group stepped out of their comfort zone and used English not only in their work placements but also in everyday life situations in the city. In doing so, they developed their social skills. The students experienced working in different working conditions than they do here, proving that they are able to adapt to the Spanish lifestyle and will be prepared for life after graduation.
Our school has already implemented similar projects and the results have been very satisfying for us and our students. That is why we decided that we want to continue to participate in the implementation of projects, to look for new partners or maintain contact with old ones, to send our students on short and long-term internships, to improve the coordination of projects and to help our students to broaden their horizons. We want to enable our students to improve their language skills, to experience a different culture and to get a taste of working life outside the Czech Republic. We would like them to use, deepen, and improve their theoretical and practical knowledge from our school in other places than the Czech Republic and learn new things that are hard to get to. Therefore, we evaluate enrolling in the project as a very beneficial opportunity that will help not only our students but also us, for example, to attract new applicants who would like to travel abroad for these very reasons, at the same time our teaching staff will deepen the relationship with the students and get involved in the preparation of these projects.
