With this project, we want to offer training in Nonviolent communication in the network of organisations active in youth work, as a tool that will enable them to work with youth more effectively, bringing more empathy, understanding and respect. We want to provide practical training in communication skills that offers new framework of connecting to people and supports tolerance of differences, thus becoming very useful in case of preventing radicalisation of youth, extremistic opinions and behaviours, etc. The objectives of the project are: To bring to youth workers an understanding of basic principles of Nonviolent communication and benefits of using it in different contexts and especially in youth work, as a tool fostering peacebuilding and mutual understanding. To expand the capacity of participating youth workers in recognising and naming their needs and feelings, as well as to understand needs and feeling of others and name them in an understandable way. To support youth workers in orientation in difficult communication situations and conflicts, equipping them with tools and techniques that they will be able to apply in their own contexts and deal with conflicts in a constructive way To practice empathy, presence and active listening in conversations with others To learn basic skills of emphatic coaching and mediation of conflicts To create an international network of NVC practitioners in youth work that is able to support each other in a long-term context To support peacebuilding and mutual understanding among a wider group of youth workers and others, despite potential differences and different opinions, by providing access to online materials that share basic principles of NVC
