This project builds on the proven experience of our two previous training sessions (EVS in Our Hands - 2015 and EVS Gathering 2016), which has assured us that such a type of educational activity is a major concern among accredited organizations. We are responding to newly identified needs as well as suggestions from previous trainings (sharing experience, deepening ESC coordinator competences, establishing a deeper partnership between EU / non-EU countries and linking training with a study visits in the Czech Republic). An innovative feature is the spectrum of selected EU and Western Balkan / SEE partners. This step responds to the need to strengthen the long-term deeper partnership between EU and Western Balkans / SEE organizations for volunteer projects, including deepening intercultural understanding among these countries. In Western Balkans/SEE, we also map similar needs of coordinators (work with volunteer education, effective communication, ICL and Inclusion, conflict resolution). At the same time, it is important for us to respond to current changes in the project and to encourage accredited organizations to continuously transform into new forms of international volunteering (the transformation of EVS into new types - European Solidarity Corps). We will contribute to the personal development of coordinators and their competencies in the field of work with foreign volunteers, as well as to the development of long-term volunteering partnerships between EU and Western Balkan / SEE countries. We want to contribute to increasing the quality of volunteer projects in accredited organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad. As partial goals leading to the fulfillment of the general objective we will focus on: - reinforcing the motivation of volunteer coordinators and developing their soft skills in communication, effective feedback, conflict resolution; - deepening knowledge on the ESC learning cycle and the ability to effectively support the learning process of all involved actors; - getting acquainted with new forms of international volunteering (volunteering projects in European Solidarity Corps programme), including deepening existing topics (Inclusion, ICL, visibility); - obtaining specific tools, examples of good practice and inspiration for managing volunteers in projects; - creating a space to build partnerships between EU and Western Balkan / SEE organizations and their support for long-term cooperation; - understanding cultural aspects in international volunteering and deepening intercultural understanding of volunteer projects in the EU and Western Balkans / SEE. The partnership is composed of 8 EU countries (CZ, HU, PT, IT, AU, GE, SI, PL) and 6 countries in South East Europe (Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina). From each partner country, two representatives will be selected - we will select those participants who are motivated to use the skills learned from the training (those who work in long-term projects and activities in organizations). The aim of our activities is to deepen the knowledge and practical skills of volunteer coordinators for their work and to gain experience/tips and examples of good practice with volunteer projects and personal development of coordinators. At the same time, it is important for us that thanks to the sharing space and the chosen methodology, participants strengthen their motivation for the work of the volunteer coordinator and gain new ideas, tips and energies to develop the functioning of volunteer projects within the European Solidarity Corps in their organization. The main themes of training will be: learning process in ESC, partnership, volunteering, cultural diversity, inclusion, challenges, sustainability. In the framework of the training, we will focus on giving participants a deeper understanding of volunteering in relation to natural life cycles and looking at volunteer projects and their functioning from an unconventional point of view. The methodology of the training, the chosen techniques and the whole course of it will reflect the principles of non-formal education. In both training sessions, the theoretical parts needed to gain knowledge about the subject will be emphasized, while emphasizing the acquisition of practical skills, using different interactive methods. Significant elements of both training courses will be study visits. Participants will deepen the knowledge and practical skills of volunteer project coordinators, gain experience with volunteer projects. At the same time, it is important for us that thanks to the sharing space and the chosen methodology, the participants strengthen their motivation for the work of the volunteer coordinator, recognize the main motivational factors and the art of motivating volunteers other collaborators in volunteer projects, and gained new ideas, inspiration and energy to develop volunteer projects in their organization.
