Objectives

The YE is based on all partners needs and following context: - there is a chance for young people to be active citizens no matter if they live in a city or in a village, but they may miss a motivation especially on a regional level - fears, prejudices or stereotypes based on nationality/different culture are a serious issue all across the Europe and a pernsonal experience is a unique chance to face it - there are lots of problems which may be relieved with an active civic-society contribution and good practice/experience and ideas sharing can be important impulse - civic activism, volunteering of young people bring a complex self-development and motivation for their professional life and enterpreneurschip and it ́s important to show, that there is a chance to be active that way in a city as well as in a distant region - local NGOs are dealing with a lack of young motivated people to be involved in different civic activities Our specific objectives are: - to let young people discover the civic society and activism, find out its importance and helpfulness for cities/regions/community/active person; point out the particular importance of civic activities in regions - identify issues and problems they are facing in the community/region/city/country and let them think about that - share some good practice examples of civic activities in Brno and let the participants discover a chance to become an active citizen - share a good practice/experience and ideas to deal with a specific issue in an international context - provide youth/youth workers/NGOs/local entities and public a cool booklet with "international ideas" regarding different problems young people identified - let the youth find out, that there are a lot of similar issues we face all across Europe - help prejudices elimination working in an international team, getting known the peers peronally and remove the barriers in comunication - improve different soft skills of young participants (communication both foreign and native languages, negotiation and discussion, creativity and "structured thinking", social networking, reflection and self-reflection, enterpreneurship, time-planning, presentation, team and individual work etc.) - enhance young people motivation to become active in a very broadest meaning of this word - promote European values among young people and increase EU awarness There are few essential steps in the YE leading to the objectives. After a general introduction and civic society "own definition", there is a chance for each one to think about civic issues he/she faces in the everyday life/region/community/country. After a team discussion some of these issues are to be dealt during an international team work - people with different language, cultural, social, economical or even religious background offer their ideas/good practice for this particular problem using the "civic society" tools. These ideas will be presented in a whole group plenary and finally summed up in a cool "punk" booklet. It ́s a crutial tool of dissemination and follow-up being offered to different kind of people including NGOs, local administrative etc. We take care of the group dynamics during the whole programme using energisers /icebreakers or other tools to keep the balance between mental and physical work. The evening programme is giong to be usually optional, we ́d like to let the people go deeply to the ideas if they want so or have a rest if they need so. We provide different tools for reflection based on non-formal education methods and change individual/group reflection to let the participants think individually of the team work and share with the national/international group their own experience. We use the national group reflection to let the participants be more specific in reflection an conceptualise a bit as well speaking their native language.
