Objectives

There is a big issue of smartphone and on-line addiction and that it is related not only to youngsters but also to grown-up. The use of smartphones limited us in spending time with other people. People addicted to smartphones might become more individualist and lose abilities for cooperation and social inclusion. Another aspect in on-line communication is the fact that it is often full of intolerance, disrespect or even hate speech and cyberbullying. The project "Re-connecting" is meant as a step to change this situation. We would like to show to the other young people how important it is sometimes to unconnect from internet and focus on building social connections with other people. We also want to show them what are the possibilities for spending free time, what are benefits and threats related with internet, how to communicate in a positive and respectfull way with others in "off-line" and "on-line" worlds. Moreover by bringing together young people from different countries and backgrounds we will learn tolerance and openess. Objectives: - To prevent online addiction and misbehaviour of youth by showing them valuable ways of spending free time and by leading them to respective and tolerant attitude - To explore the issue of on-line and technology addiction among youth by collecting data about technology habits of participants and their peers, to promote this knowledge among youth workers and support them to include this topic in their work - To raise awareness among youth and local communities about influence of internet and technology on our life and reltionships with others - To increase job opportunities of youngsters by improvement of thier competencies, specificly in face-to-face communication, team work and building postivie relationships with others - To educate youngsters on how to recognize the symptoms related to misuse of the Internet in order to tackle the issue from its roots; encouraging them to support their peers in solving problems of cyberbullying; - To create a safe space for inter-cultural dialogue and raise awareness of common values like freedom, tolerance and respect for others.
