Objectives

With the completed project, various goals were pursued. Young people should be prepared in the best possible way for professional life, which is becoming increasingly diverse. For this purpose, they should also gain experience and acquire new knowledge, skills and competencies in other European countries. This professional life is increasingly characterized by changes and adjustments to new developments and conditions, while at the same time the number of trainees who require special support is increasing. Therefore, the aim of the completed project was to raise awareness and qualify our trainees, our educational staff and our educational institution as a whole for working in Europe, even during the initial training, across regional and national borders. The aim of the completed and ongoing projects was to improve the basic factor of human capital in the construction trade and in the construction industry and to improve the chances of our trainees for their future professional life.

Background

The completed project was carried out because the Knobelsdorff School would like to prepare young people as best as possible for their professional and personal future in a rapidly changing European environment, taking into account as many important aspects as possible. Due to the fact that the demands on the technical and social skills of skilled workers and building trades are constantly increasing, there are a variety of challenges for those who train them. Since, on the one hand, the need for well-trained and flexible workers is constantly increasing in a Europe that is growing ever closer together, and since, on the other hand, the proportion of less qualified and disadvantaged trainees is increasing, a professional exchange among teachers at an international level is of great benefit. In this way, as an educational institution for construction trades, we are improving our ability to offer our trainees a differentiated range of training courses and activity options tailored to their different requirements to promote their personal development.
