By attending the Erasmus+ projects, the participants are enabled to train and enhance their professional expertise, language competence and social skills. The internships which provide these competences are going to last for two to three weeks abroad. The projects aim at training the students’ communicative competence to increase chances on the international labour market. Teachers who attend the projects focus on improving their terminology concerning their field of work. The department of pre-vocational education wanted to offer an internship in Sweden, for the first time. Until now, we hadn’t had the chance to offer mobilities for students in this department. By providing this additional mobility we hope to get a step closer to reach our internationalisation which includes the chance to offer a mobility for each student at our college. In addition to that we plan to support and improve the language skills of our project managers by attending a language seminar abroad for one week.
Internationality is part of the school’s leitmotiv, it’s programme and charter. According to the programme of the vocational college BBS II Gifhorn “…students are trained to face the challenges and chances of the local, national and international world of work. To ensure this part of the school’s charter, students are offered individual educational opportunities”. As acknowledged European school in Lower Saxony (Europaschule in Niedersachsen), we are devoted to provide chances for internships in European countries. In article seven of the school’s charter, we agreed to form and live networks/connections with local, national and international partners. The financial support of the mobilities is provided by programmes of the EU and other institutions. The vocational college BBS II Gifhorn strive towards offering wide ranged and modern mobilities for the students. In the long term we want to offer each student a chance to attend a mobility and acquire the “Europass”. In addition to that, we offer mobilities for our teachers to train and support their skills in preparing, executing, and evaluating Erasmus+ - projects.
