The primary goal of our project is the intercultural and linguistic further education of the pupils and the educational staff as well as the expansion of the network of our educational institution within Europe. We want to build a productive network of educational institutions and schools to prepare our students for the challenges of profession and life in general with regard development of their linguistic skills as well as intercultural competences and professional development. Our students should learn from other school and training systems, similarities and differences to collect ideas and experiences bringing them to Germany. In addition, they should be aware of the possibilities the European Union offers for their future and how to use them.
The BBZ Rendsburg-Eckernförde is located in Rendsburg in the middle of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, a structurally weak area. Therefore, it was very important to us to provide future-oriented school education and competitive degrees for our students. Our students can choose between full-time and part-time apprenticeships in different educational branches at two locations (Rendsburg and Eckernförde). Due to the pandemic, only nine students were able to participate in our project, eight apprentices (dual training) and one commercial assistant (full-time training). In addition, two teachers went to Aalborg for hospitations. Commercial assistants are required to do an internship during their training period. Especially for the commercial students with main focus on foreign languages, we find it very important that they do not only have professional experience but also the option is to make this experience abroad. Apart from that we would like to expand our dual vocational education through European content and would like to enable our apprentices to get to know other European training systems and thus to be better prepared for the European labour market.
