The main objective of the project was therefore to support the learners in expanding their pedagogical professionalism by practically deepening the intercultural skills acquired theoretically (in the classroom) through the primary professional experience in other European countries (mobility) and following the training in the transferred to everyday pedagogical practice. In selected bilingual educational institutions in other European countries, the trainees were involved in everyday group life, planned and designed an educational project with multilingual children themselves and evaluated its impact. You will acquire systematic, didactic and practical skills to deal with multilingualism in everyday bilingual education. Just as important as the acquisition of professional skills was the development of the prospective socio-educational professionals’ own diversity-conscious and culturally-sensitive attitude, in that they consciously perceived and reflected on their own experiences of foreignness, a change of perspective and their own ability to integrate, and thereby consciously controlled their pedagogical action.
Cultural and social diversity are increasingly seen as determining factors for educational processes. Due to increasing globalization processes, the demands on educational institutions have changed significantly. This results in a significantly extensive educational mandate for a contemporary professional qualification of technical school training to become a state-recognized educator (§2NSchG). A didactic specification of the RRL of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education for the technical school of social education can be found in the requirements profile within module 2. Here, a special focus is placed on the teaching of intercultural skills, which should enable future educators to work independently and independently in cultural overlapping situations to be culturally sensitive. For several years, the BBS Anne-Matie Tausch has been setting up a "Europe" profile class. In the pedagogical project applied for, the students in this class have the opportunity to apply for a stay abroad of several weeks as part of their practical training.
