Objectives

The partnership between LAF and Svenljunga should have been deepened and both partners hoped to exchange additional experience in forestry teachings. The participants should have gained and proofed additional and deeper knowledge and competences for their profession according the EQF-system. And they should have collected new individual experience in Sweden. Therefore, a Learning agreement with every participant was developed and fixed before the mobility-time started. Especially the technical competence in natural-science, the communication and learning skills, social and intercultural competence as well as initiative and entrepreneurship of every participant should have been strengthened by the project. The teachers should have gained additional experience and new special knowledge from the forestry lessons at Svenljunga, and they should use that at LAF in the future. The project has even fit the demand of the German forestry sector for more education of skilled forestry workers with big modern forest machinery. Compared with previous LAF-projects the simulator-technique was more intensively used in the project 2022. This should increase the technical competence and experience of modern teaching methods in forestry.

Background

A learning time in a foreign country creates an extreme additional benefit for every participant. Any education facility profits from an exchange with comparable organisations across the border. The project EDPEduFOSS (Exchange for Digital and Practical Education in Forestry Operations between Svenljunga and Bad Segeberg) continues the long-term school-partnership between the forestry schools at Svenljunga, Sweden and Bad Segeberg, Germany. The „Lehranstalt für Forstwirtschaft (LAF)“ belongs to the forestry department of the chamber of agriculture Schleswig-Holstein. As project partner occurs „Naturbruksförvaltning Västra Götalandsregion“ as the head organisation of the forestry school “Naturbruksgymnasium Svenljunga”. The project bases on a Memorandum of Understanding including a Learning-Agreement, on which both partners agreed according the ECVET-principles 2017. The Swedish partner-school has already realized successful international projects together with the LAF. They integrated different forestry specialists and institutions in Sweden into the project. By that a maximum of modern forestry knowledge and skills could have been imparted.
