Internships: Pupils should be prepared for living, working and studying abroad in Europe. They should develop their language skills and cultural competence and move as independently and responsibly as possible in a company or at a college abroad. They should accept the challenges of these new experiences and realise that they are capable of mastering them. Support is offered of course, but rarely taken up. This leads to a new self-confidence, security, belief in their own abilities and the discovery of new strengths. So that they are finally 'Fit for a Job in Europe'. Job shadowing: Ideally, colleagues could also have made contact with schools with which we do not yet have partnerships and / or get to know schools with which we are already networked better. Job shadowing at companies in the respective sectors (e.g. logistics, automotive) abroad was also an objective.
As 'Europaschule' we want to give trainees and our vocational students the opportunity to do an internship abroad. In most cases, the internship is a compulsory module for participants in the voluntary additional qualification 'European Business Management Assistant', but we also offer it to all other trainees. Guiding principle 4 of the school programme reads: As a European school, we seek and maintain cooperation with our national and international partners of our school by ... - promoting and publicising joint projects, student and teacher exchanges and reciprocal visits. - enabling our pupils and teachers to undertake work placements at home and abroad.... - we strengthen the interest for external contacts in our teaching staff (ectract). Job shadowing should be an opportunity for our teachers to experience the working world abroad, to incorporate these experiences into their work and to motivate students to plan a stay abroad. We also want to learn from everyday school life in other countries. There is also the possibility of establishing new school partnerships and / or planning new joint projects.
