Background

We want to prepare the trainees of our vocational college for music in the best possible way for the current demands of the job market. Today, professional musicians are active in international projects, give concerts throughout Europe and teach students with a migration background. To this end, early networking with artists in other EU countries is advantageous. In the field of Jazz, Rock and Pop, musicians usually work freelance. This requires a high degree of self-management skills, personal responsibility and self-confidence for a highly competitive market, which is fostered by participation in international mobility. In addition, creative, innovative musical projects often emerge in exchange with other musical traditions. In order to enable as many trainees as possible to gain international experience, the Neue Jazzschool München e.V. would like to regularly host European guest students and thus intensify internationalization at home. For lessons and projects with international guests, vocational college teachers and administrative staff should expand their flexibility and professional English language skills.
