We wanted to achieve the following goals through the project: he attractiveness of vocational training in our region should be increased, especially in the training areas that suffer from a lack of trainees and a shortage of skilled workers. The internationalisation of vocational training should be actively supported with internships abroad. Pupils should gain experience in the European working world. Moreover they should develop openness and tolerance towards other cultures. The mutual work placements of pupils and teachers are designed for the long term (continuation). The teachers should inform themselves about the school curricula as well as the in-company training in order to further develop the quality standard of their own teaching. Teachers and students should realise that nowadays it is important to enhance the content of in-company training through a placement abroad. Lessons learned by teachers and students are multiplied in and out of school. Teachers open up to the "European spirit" and understand Germany as "just" one part of the European idea. Interested pupils of the BBS 1 Uelzen and their training companies are given the chance to advance the European integration process and develop a European sense of community. Pupils and teachers were encouraged to break down language barriers by improving their language skills. The skills and knowledge acquired were recognised through the award of the Europass Mobility. Participants were encouraged to exchange and apply in practice new developments in the vocational fields (Industry 4.0, e-mobility, e-commerce, digitalisation). Teachers should develop imanagement competences regarding digital school management. In the context of inclusion, trainees with few opportunities / chances should be taken into account. Our European network of partner institutions should be extended and deepened.
The primary goal of BBS1 Uelzen in the area of European mobility and cooperation was to convey the EU to the teaching staff and students as a positive political entity that opens up new possibilities and opportunities for their professional and private lives. By spending time abroad in Europe, we enabled our trainees and teachers to broaden their professional knowledge and increase their acceptance of other cultures. In times when fears towards the EU are growing and a tendency towards isolation towards the EU can be seen in the member states, we wanted to show our participants the EU as an alliance of states in which one can move freely and use professional opportunities for personal development. By acquiring new skills, our trainees further developed their personalities and improved their professional opportunities on the German as well as the European labour market in the future. The teachers increased the quality in education and training through the exchange with their European colleagues. To promote professional competence, both the colleagues and the students were able to acquire subject-specific know-how based on best practice examples in order to improve their future employment opportunities. The BBS 1 Uelzen see it as their task to prepare their students for the challenges of the European labour market and to support their teachers in teaching the relevant subject area. The latter was achieved through an exchange of curricular guidelines and their practical implementation. Furthermore, we wanted our participants to experience European values in practice, including safety, tolerance, equality and respect for other cultures. The participants further developed their awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries. Through active participation in the mobilities, the participants could and can identify better with Europe.
