The main aim was to equip teachers for their important European work at school and to expand and update their European knowledge and skills, to motivate them and equip them for their work. With regard to the trainees, they should be enabled to orientate themselves on the European labour market, to gain (initial) professional experience in an international environment and thus to lay an essential milestone on their hopefully successful path to the labour market. The expansion and consolidation of language skills should also be achieved for both teachers and trainees and were just as much a focus as gaining knowledge about the culture of the countries to be visited.
HANSE-Berufskolleg has been a certified or recertified European School in NRW since 2009. In this, it is our concern and part of the values we teach at our vocational college to familiarise the students, trainees and of course the teachers with the necessary skills for international cooperation in a European context and to give them the opportunity to acquire them. In this sense, this project was also designed to further the internationalisation of the HANSE vocational college.
