The city of Münster carried out the project in order to train the city's employees for European knowledge transfer and European projects. The project supported the city of Muenster to become an "international administration" and a global player. Moreover, the project increased language skills and provided intercultural experience for selected staff members. The aim of the project was to make trainees and trainers "fit for Europe" and thus actively create a Europe-friendly and project-open atmosphere in the administration.
The council of the city of Münster took several council decisions with the aim to create a European-friendly city administration. From an administration that exchanges information and knowledge with other European partners and jointly seeks solutions for global problems and challenges is a benefit for every single citizen. In order to create European cooperation, first of all the staff (trainees and instructors) must be "educated" to work in an european context (keywords: language skills, intercultural experience, among others).
