The fundamental objectives of the mobility programs are to anchor the European idea into vocational training and to improve opportunities on the European labor market. Ultimately, the personal experiences of young people lead to an improvement in labor market opportunities on the national market as well. In our opinion, our school-based vocational training prepares learners better and more intensively than previously for a multinational society and provides them the skills needed for their future working life. The incorporation of this European dimension into the educational curriculum is executed at the training level by our professional staff. If they are not trained to be sensitive to this issue, it is not possible for them to credibly convey to the learners the importance and value of the European labour market. The mobilities of the professional staff aim to expand knowledge and the awareness of the professional world of other European countries, enabling them to teach the next generation accordingly.
Expanding our European profile is of great importance to the Euro Akademie Berlin. For this purpose, we are working to ensure that our international network includes not only the International Office of the Euro Akademie, but also as many vocational training teachers and staff members as possible. Through this network we aim to achieve a qualitative improvement of the internships our learners undertake, as well as provide further education that is European-oriented to our teaching and professional staff. We seek to improve the quality of our learners’ internships through personal contact. Content and objectives of an internship abroad are defined and specified by the three parties involved: the trainee, the supervisor in the host institution and the teacher in the sending institution. In this way, any issues that may arise can be discussed and resolved directly through official channels. As a private provider of vocational training, the Euro Akademie is committed to providing high quality and attractive further training opportunities for teachers in order to offset the shortage of skilled workers.
