Objectives

The goals of the project were manifold and include three areas: the personal level, the professional level and mobility. Strengthening the European idea is also becoming more and more central in the preparation and implementation. The target group includes young people with special needs, e.g. with mental illnesses, are particularly disadvantaged socially or sometimes have multiple barriers. They could all have developed individually through the stay abroad and benefited from the experience in the long term. In particular, a sustainable strengthening of self-esteem was to be expected.

Background

The mobility project for young people with special needs aims to enable participants to develop personally and professionally. In the labour market, it is becoming increasingly important to gain experience outside one's own apprenticeship company and to develop international professional skills. However, this step is not easy, especially for young people with impairments and disabilities. The project of Berufsbildungswerk Suedhessen gGmbH with the exchange to Austria to the partner organisation Wien Work integrative Betriebe promotes the young people's professional opportunities and also offers them the possibility to gain work experience in other European countries.
