Objectives

The main objective of this project was to help trainees gain new perspectives and become mature EU citizens by providing them with a stay abroad with a professional internship in their fields of expertise, thus enhancing their professional as well as social and intercultural competencies. They were to apply their professional and personal skills and abilities in a foreign environment in a different linguistic and cultural context. Other important aspects for us were the development of problem-solving skills as well as improving the learners’ foreign language skills and strengthening of the participants' self-confidence. For this purpose, we sent trainees from different local and regional partners for internships of several weeks to different European countries from Spain to Greece.

Background

One of the most important of our corporate goals is to promote tolerance, cultural openness and lifelong learning. With the successful implementation of European mobility projects, we can come closer to this goal and actively contribute to a tolerant society open to the world. In this way, we also support our local and regional partners from vocational schools and companies in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt in enabling their trainees to look beyond their own horizons and to develop their professional and intercultural skills. By that, we can set an example for a European community and common European values, especially in times of rising nationalism. This benefits not only our institution, but above all the young people who are the future of Europe.
