In addition to the goal of improving the ability of lifelong learning, the students should be able to get to know each other and to test vocational learning in theory and practice. The confrontation with the new circumstances offered the trainees the opportunity to apply and test their previous professional skills. In addition, this independent and multi-perspective discussion promotes a professional life to adapt to the current requirements and also the ability to provide professional transfer as well as professional flexibility or mobility. The students should not only be taught new approaches theoretically, but also experience them themselves. In addition to these professionally oriented intentions, a personal testing of independence, conflict resolution and self-confidence should also be in the foreground. Furthermore, the expansion of foreign language skills and the recognition of the need to master a lingua franca was also an important intention. Accordingly, our intention was to impart a holistic education, i.e. a sustainable promotion of professional and interdisciplinary as well as social skills.
The intention of the project resulted on the one hand from the school program to qualify and integrate at a high level, on the other hand from the self-image as a European school to support, consolidate and pass on the idea of Europe to the students. Specific objectives also arose from the vocational, intercultural and foreign language learning needs of the trainees: A common goal of all participating project partners is the adaptation of the levels within the European qualifications framework in order to award comparable educational qualifications and thus simplify the recognition of foreign school leaving qualifications and allow more scope for professional mobility. Another background of the project was to improve the capacity of lifelong learning by expanding their competences in the areas of creativity, flexibility and problem-solving skills as well as personal and social skills.
