Objectives

Many different developments lead to the fact that the European markets grow together more and more. In the future, more and more SMEs will be required to operate on the international market. In order to maintain or develop competences on this level as an educational company, measures have to be planned and implemented for this purpose; measures to increase employee competences (social, technical, methodical, language competence, etc.) in the own company and external companies that want to acquire foreign experiences in the context of learning mobility. Trainees and employees from the commercial and tourism sectors, as well as from industry, increasingly require foreign language skills, intercultural competencies and a high willingness to be mobile for their daily dealings with customers. Both from the point of view of the companies, which are active on the international markets, and for the professional perspective of the trainees, the need arises to acquire these competences. Here we would like to support with our mobility projects of Erasmus+ 'Learning in Europe' and give the companies, trainees, as well as young professionals the opportunity to better position themselves internationally and to develop further.

Background

As an educational institution of the three chambers of industry and commerce in Schleswig-Holstein (IHK zu Kiel, IHK zu Lübeck und IHK Flensburg), the Wirtschaftsakademie Schleswig-Holstein has taken on the task of providing mobility advice for trainees, companies and vocational schools in Schleswig-Holstein. We are part of the network 'Berufsbildung ohne Grenzen (BoG)' (Vocational Training without Borders) and advise and support trainees and young professionals in this project to realize a stay abroad during and after the dual and school education. In this context, since 2009 we have also been offering scholarships through our Erasmus+ projects 'Learning in Europe I-X' as financial support for stays abroad. As a pool project sponsor, we also cooperate with chambers of industry and commerce throughout Germany and make the scholarship places available to trainees and young freight workers throughout Germany.
