Objectives

The essential goal of our SPES e.V. is to empower people so that they can actively shape their living space and contribute to a better quality of life. Our main goal was therefore to expand the professional, methodological, social and personal competencies of our employees. Professional competencies: By getting to know best practice examples and new future models (e.g. young living, Conclusio, innovative local supply models). Methodological competencies: New moderation and participation methods (e.g. community process facilitation; design thinking), as well as digital formats (e.g. video conferencing). Personal and social competencies should be strengthened in order to motivate citizens in the best possible way, to qualify them and to create a good climate for creative ideas, for good cooperation and for the concrete implementation of projects. The employees should know the principles and values underlying the work of SPES and be able to communicate them to others. Another important goal was the establishment of sustainable cross-national cooperation with the SPES Future Academy and possibly other European partners.

Background

SPES e.V. wants to secure the quality of life of people in rural areas in the long term Rural areas are characterized by structural, demographic, social and digital change There is a great need for new approaches to solutions in order to respond appropriately and maintain or improve the quality of life. With this project, we wanted to learn about innovative, sustainable and practice-oriented solution approaches and best-practice projects. We wanted to understand the underlying principles and the concrete implementation of these models. This will enable us to adapt them specifically to the needs in Germany and adopt them for our SPES work. This will enable us to develop further as an educational organization, occupy new thematic areas, expand our educational offerings and reach new target groups. In addition to thematic knowledge transfer, we also wanted to learn new moderation and participation methods, as well as the use of digital media in adult education and citizen participation. We want to become aware of our own values and attitudes and be able to exchange them with others. We also want to strengthen our European cooperation and internationalization.
