Specific goals of the mobility activities were: 1. Outputs and results of former projects in the field of integration of immigrants and other disadvantaged groups should be made available to permanent and temporary staff members of the Volkshochschulen in Baden-Württemberg as well as other adult education providers from the region. 2. Training curricula for language trainers and guidance counselors developed in the framework of the above-named projects by international partners should be run on a regular basis and multiplied. 3. Together with its international adult education partners, the vhs-Verband has developed a series of commonly coordinated trainings that should be visited by staff members of all partners. 4. The cooperation with about 25 different international partners from the fields of adult education, science, public administration and business support should be intensified and become sustainable. 5. The close cooperation with international partners should be used to further foster innovation in the adult education sector. Facing similar challenges, e.g. concerning the integration of migrants.
The mobility project "From integration to inclusion" was designed alongside former, current and upcoming European innovation projects in the field of integration. European mobilities were used to spread outputs and results of these projects among adult educators and enable them to better foster integration of migrants, to enable them to use new tools and concepts for teaching and guidance in order to achieve better quality of services and to establish - in the long run - new ways of teaching as well as innovative forms of education inspired by the European exchange. This included adaptions on the structural level of education management as a precondition for change.International mobilities also contributed to the intercultural opening of the schools as participants gained own international experience. The long-term goal of the Volkshochschulen in Baden-Württemberg is to make - through higher quality adult education and guidance services - integration efforts more effective in the end. The upscaled services of the adult education schools shall help to achieve full inclusion with view to society in general and work in particular and to decrease disparities between migrants and the native-born local population.
