Throughout the duration of the project, 41 apprentices and 15 teachers will visit the partner institutions in Estonia, Portugal, Hungary, Sweden and Slovakia. Each partner institution is focused on vocational training programs which are also being taught at SBSZ Jena-Göschwitz. The successful and long established work on this project is being continued by the Tartu Kutsehariduskeskus, the CENFIM, the Szegedi Móravárosi Ipari Szakképzö és Általános Iskola, the Björknäsgymnasiet, Stredna odborna skola hotelovych sluzieb a obchodu and the SBSZ Jena – Göschwitz. The teachers have a variety of different classes during the exchange. They can take part in and observe lessons, exchange information with one another, broaden their educational and technical knowledge, and develop new ideas for the exchange program for the future. The main goal of this project in the end is to complete the written module for the attainment of the apprenticeship.
In the previous year we were able to strengthen the connections, relations and friendships with our partner schools through student and teacher exchanges. Our German students are part of the lessons at the foreign schools. They attend special courses and units that are strongly related to their education as well as to the aims of the exchange. Therefore, it is one of our permanent goal to define and develop these lesson contents. Furthermore, we want to make them as clear and comprehendible as possible to safeguard that any accompanying teacher is able to guarantee and maintain the desired quality of lesson content and the students’ progress. To insure quality, we have the following procedure: A group of three teachers per school and country spent time at the schools, visit courses, talk to teachers and make themselves familiar with contents. Based on their observations they develop lesson plans and concepts for the accompanying teachers and worksheets for the students. They serve as a basis for structured, well founded and complete transfer of lesson contents that are essential for the students. They also allow to make changes and to modify contents if necessary. Currently we are in the process of developing a four stages competency model to enable the students to get their acquired knowledge certified.
