In the project, the aim was to provide incentives for the 70 vocational colleges in the Düsseldorf administrative district to strengthen their systematic internationalisation efforts by promoting mobility projects, thus contributing to a further increase in the number of learners gaining experience abroad in the context of a high-quality internship. After coping with the Corona pandemic, activities were aimed at motivating vocational colleges to resume their mobility activities. This was to be done by: - Promoting the additional qualification "International Vocational Mobility" of the state of NRW as a further incentive for learners to complete an internship abroad. - promoting the ECVET process - directly supporting the mobility of disadvantaged learners - Promoting the mobility of teachers at vocational colleges in the district and, if possible, trainers in the dual system to prepare for work placements abroad. - Further training for teachers at vocational colleges in the district on the planning, implementation and follow-up of work placements abroad.
The Office for EU Projects and Vocational Qualification belongs to the Department of Vocational Education of the Düsseldorf District Government and is thus part of the Higher School Supervision. Department 45 Vocational Education cooperates with 78 vocational colleges in the district of Düsseldorf. The GEB is a service unit of the Department 45, which advises the vocational colleges and their partners in vocational education and training in the conception of European and national projects, provides assistance in the search for possible European project partners and informs about the selection of suitable EU funding programs. The GEB advises the vocational colleges of the district on European funding opportunities and gives its professional opinion on project initiatives. It intensifies mobility in vocational training and organizes the exchange of expertise and information among the vocational colleges. The individual school is to be supported specifically in order to be able to meet the diverse requirements of project planning, application, partner search and curricular integration in the sense of sustainable structural support for a European profile of vocational training.
