The aim was not only to increase the quantity of mobility in vocational education and training, but also to ensure its quality. The instruments such as counselling, training of supervising teachers for meaningful learning agreements and compulsory evaluations before and after the internship, served this purpose. The Move on projects are part of the 10% strategy of the EUGES. Meanwhile, already 15 vocational colleges in the administrative district of Cologne have been awarded the "10% school" seal and the project has contributed significantly to a continuous increase in mobility. Due to the corona pandemic, there was unfortunately a significant drop in mobilities. However, the trend shows that the vocational colleges are all the more motivated to emerge from the pandemic and are now sending a large number of students on internships abroad. In addition, the experiences of the Move on projects contributed to the fact that in the meantime an additional qualification "International Occupational Mobility" can be acquired in NRW as the first federal state to do so. It can be acquired by students who have completed a mobility which was accompanied at the same time in class by professional, language and intercultural aspects.
The Move on project continues the successful work of the previous mobility projects of the Department for EU projects in VET in the Cologne Government Regional Office (EUGES). The aim is to enable students at all 57 state vocational colleges in the administrative district of Cologne to spend time abroad during their training. At present this is already the case in over 90% of the vocational colleges! With this project, the EUGES supported further vocational colleges which are beginning to carry out mobility projects within the framework of Erasmus+ and which still have a low number of participants, so that making their own application is too time-consuming. EUGES took over the application and reporting for this target group and part of the administrative work. In addition, it supported them in the practical implementation, in particular the selection and supervision of students, through training and counselling. Moreover, it motivates the schools to develop an Internationalisation or Europeanisation concept or to expand their existing ones.
