FIN-DE - mobilities in vocational rehabilitation

2019-1-DE02-KA116-0058862019VET learner and staff mobility with VET mobility charterfinalized
Countries: DE · Grant: €16,371

Objectives

Our main goal is to strengthen the self-confidence of participants, enable them to improve their intercultural and foreign language competences, and to make them experience a foreign labour market. Practical skills are also important, as well as the possible improvement of employability. We hope that our trainees can overcome possible discrimination due to their disabilities by proving their work experience in a foreign country. For our staff who go on job shadowing mobilities we wish for more flexibility, getting to know different teaching/training methods and successful examples of inclusion, as well as collecting new ideas for cooperation with the partners. Our staff can hopefully get new stimuli for their work, can experience other approaches in practical training or find confirmation for their own ways of working. Internationalisation of vocational training and corresponding knowledge (like knowledge of the foreign vocational training system & vocational rehabilitation system) and an improvement of foreign language skills are also important to us.

Background

As a European Vocational Training Centre we prepare for a European labour market. The Euro-BBW externally trains young people with impairments concerning body, psychological wellbeing or learning abilities who could not successfully finish a dual training without support, according to German social law. Due to their mainly psychological impairments, apprentices of the Euro-BBW have severe difficulties to deal with new and unfamiliar situations, the necessary flexibility, a foreign language and culture on their own. Furthermore our apprentices have more experience with failure and discrimination than others and accordingly often show insecurity in unfamiliar situations. With our accompanied mobilities we can give our students the experience of success, skills for solving problems and self-confidence. They also acquire practical skills for their job field, improve their English language competences and their intercultural competences. They are also better able to be vocationally mobile and have better job prospects.
