The aim of the project was to further advance the internationalisation strategy of IB Berlin Brandenburg. All areas of the company as well as other areas of vocational education and training such as vocational preparation were to be permanently involved in international projects (be it international youth encounters, or cooperation partnerships. Cooperation with partners abroad has been expanded to the extent that learners from abroad now also regularly do internships at the IB. For example, in March 2022, two Lithuanian trainees from the home economics department, accompanied by a teacher, completed a two-week internship in our company. The IB's internationalisation strategy also stipulates that more long-term projects are sought for the company. The company is currently participating in two cooperation partnerships (in vocational training and adult education). The aim of the exchange of skilled workers in Austria was to improve the methodology in rehabilitation training. The aim of the traineeships abroad was to get to know a familiar training area in a foreign country, to acquire additional expertise and knowledge, and to exchange professional experience.
The original aim of the project was to expand the range of internships abroad for our trainees and to implement a learning stay for skilled workers. Consequently, a total of 24 mobilities with a duration of 3 weeks were applied for for learners as well as 6 pedagogical staff members of our company who accompany the trainees during the internship. In addition, 7 trainers from the areas of vocational preparation and training were to do job shadowing in partner organisations in Austria. Unfortunately, due to the Corona pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the mobilities could not be carried out as planned.
