Objectives

Our objectives are very varied. Many of our students come from low-income backgrounds and therefore have never had the opportunity to stay abroad for a longer period. We want to offer this opportunity to each of our students regardless of their background. With regard to our dual vocational education, globalisation and international networks play an increasing role in a professional context. Therefore we encourage all our apprentices to carry out part of their apprenticeship in another European country. Furthermore, we want to enhance the intercultural, organisational as well as language skills of our students.

Background

Being a certified „Europaschule“, it is crucial for us to provide intercultural awareness for different nations. In this context we have gathered experience in three of our courses of education, especially „Industriekaufleute“ (vocational education for industrial business management assistants) and „Staatlich geprüfte kaufmännische Assistenten“ (state-certified business assistants). Also we continued to implement a Europe-oriented curriculum in the form of case studies in all courses. Furthermore, we carried out a full-day case study regarding Europe for the whole school on our „Europe day“. In November of 2018 we were awarded the label „Europaschule“ (Europe school) by the federal government of North-Rhine Westphalia. This Label is a certificate of the international orientation of our curriculum and vision. Finally, we are regularly certified by the district government because of our „10% strategy“.
