Objectives

The colleagues should be enabled to support us in all phases of carrying out ERASMUS+projects. By working together and exchanging ideas in a structured way in international teams the participants should gain valuable methodological, didactic and cross-cultural competences. At the same time an effect on the development of our European curriculum and European scenarios should be initiated. The guideline of our European orientation, that a competent internationalised staff and an improved curricular work improves the education and values of our learners and makes them participate as open-minded European citizens on the EU job market should be realised at various levels. Another intention was to enable them for coaching further motivated colleagues by being multipliers. An effect on increasing project management competences of our pupils is immanent.

Background

The project was planned for the purpose of the development of cross-cultural and international project management. As European School we dedicate subject matters to implementing the European idea and it is our aim to prepare our apprentices and learners for the EU job market. We organize ERASMUS+workplacements and train them in so-called soft skills of cross-cultural competences. Thus, a qualified staff-training in intercultural and project management is essential. The structured international course enabled our participants to expand their project management and intercultural competences. The latter ones were also needed urgently as we teach international classes (i.e. refugees). The school's "European Team" needed support at their work with ERASMUS+ internships and other projects. We expected a motivation boost for the teaching staff to implement the European idea in our lessons. The project management course trained them in joining EU projects; the impact had a positive effect on the learners’ soft-skills, like team work, cross cultural competences and language skills. Thus, our students could learn more about European ideas and were enabled to become responsible EU citizens who can also participate on the EU job market.
