The aims of our project were 1. Dealing with heterogeneity: educational equity, sustainable learning and inclusion. To learn methods of intercultural, cooperative learning and classroom management. To include them to our teaching and to multiplicate these methods to our colleagues. We want to become even better at dealing with heterogeneity (as described above). 2. Pedagogical methods, school curriculum for cooperative learning. The existing school curriculum should be developed with the methods of intercultural, informative learning. The existing assessment should be extended to include methods of informative assessment. 3. Englisch language learning and teaching. Enhance teachers' English language skills for future cooperation within the European Union. CLIL courses for modern language teaching for even better teaching quality. With our project we want to give our students an education which prepares them in the best possible way for the living and working world of the 21st century.
The Mörike Community School has participated in the Erasmus + program since 2014. The European range of structured courses in dealing with heterogeneity, intercultural teaching and learning, inclusion, media literacy, new teaching and learning methods proved to be profitable steps in the school development process. We are a school with primary and lower secondary education (Gemeinschaftsschule). The students of our school are diverse in many ways: - Educational levels: Our school has 4 different levels of proficiency, covering the entire spectrum of lower secondary education, as well as inclusive education for disadvantaged students. - Geographical origin: Our students come from over 30 different countries. - Socio-economic background: Many of our students live in families with difficult socio-economic circumstances. This diversity confronts us with many difficulties. We have undertaken this project to train our teachers in dealing with our diverse classes. Sustainable education and educational equity are our central concerns.
