We want to strengthen the school community and educate our students to be open and understanding global citizens by giving them insight into European cultures. Furthermore, we hoped to find a partner school in an English-speaking country and to motivate our colleagues to cooperate internationally. Another goal is to increase the methodological competence of the teachers at the Werner-von-Siemens Gymnasium (WSG) in order to make the lessons more motivating and varied in the long run. We were also keen to expand bilingual teaching at the WSG and extend it to additional subjects (mathematics, physics, computer science).
Due to a high ethnic diversity at our school and related financial difficulties of many families, we have applied for this project. We want to empower students with digital literacy and international collaboration by improving teachers' language and media skills.
