Objectives

Digital education: We expected insights and implementation possibilities. The aim was to increase digital teaching (e.g. increased use and safe handling of IT equipment, increased knowledge of digital tools and their sensible use, increased digital learning products, increased knowledge of future teaching concepts, etc.). Individualisation: We hoped for suggestions to motivate pupils to accept support offers, to get to know multifaceted tools, task concepts, methodical-didactical knowledge or entire teaching concepts (e.g. increase in knowledge about support concepts, quantitative and qualitative increase in differentiation offers, ...). Bilingual teaching: Staff should receive further training to be able to conduct bilingual teaching (e.g. increase language confidence/technical terminology, mediation skills in bilingual lessons and knowledge of bilingual concepts). The aim was to enable everyone to actively participate in these topics and for them to be implemented in the mission statement of our school. In addition, the foundation stone for the expansion of the European projects was to be laid.

Background

Our school focuses on the students' ability to act in order to enable an optimal preparation for professional life. Europe is to be seen as an economic community into which we release our students and where they contribute as competent workers to a functioning economic location. A Europe-wide harmonisation of the education system is therefore important so that the required mobility and flexibility can be implemented. Digital education contributes to this. In terms of equipment, there were many possibilities at our school, but these were not fully exhausted due to a lack of know-how about digital tools, a lack of knowledge about the possibilities of digital teaching and a lack of digital networking. There was a great need for further training of staff. In addition, individual support was a focus to start with the students at the level they were at and to send them on their way to recognise, develop and use their potential. There was a lack of suggestions for student motivation and implementation ideas (also with dig tools). There was also an increased focus on language-sensitive and bilingual teaching, for which the teaching staff needed further training.
