Objectives

The project 'Intercultural Profiling' aimed to bundle the diverse international projects at our school into a common concept. It was to contribute to professionalisation by means of job shadowing and e-twinning. On the basis of the intercultural and methodological-didactic competences acquired in the teacher training courses, it was to be made available to the staff via the participants with the main aim of sharpening the intercultural profiling at our school and to carry the European idea into the staff and finally into the students and parents. In this way, the quality of teaching should be sustainably improved and the European orientation and internationality of the Clara-Schumann-Gymnasium Bonn strengthened. The training of the entire teaching staff was aimed at different school development goals: Media, teacher health and movement, foreign languages, art and theatre as well as innovative school development. In the spirit of lifelong learning, the entire staff was to experience a broadening of horizons and linguistic qualification within the framework of the various teacher training measures.

Background

A central school development goal at our school is the further development of the media competences of the staff. Accordingly, one focus of the teacher training courses was the training of the staff in the field of new media. We wanted new impulses through intercultural exchange during the teacher training courses. In the field of foreign languages, all foreign language teachers were enabled to take part in teacher training measures in other European countries in order to guarantee the quality of language skills and teaching in the long term. As the physical and psychological stress in the school context has increased constantly in the last few years, we wished for teacher training measures in the field of health to successfully master these new challenges. With the support of Erasmus+, we also saw the opportunity to strengthen heterogeneity in cultural education. Impulses for the school development and internationalisation were guaranteed through all teacher training courses that focussed on how work at an innovative school could look like. These teacher training courses provided new food for thought for the school development work.
