Objectives

The project was supposed to be conducted with a clear objective. The EBS wanted to put the focus on the internalization of the students as well as the European idea of the staff. The main goals in this area are the following: international cooperation, international relations and cooperation in development, educational theory and teaching methodology, cooperation of educational institutions and companies, sending staff to selective training in European countries to find out about common ground, differences, and tasks for developing and to implement these in our daily classes. We wanted to give the teaching staff the possibility to not only deepen their professional skills, but also to increase their intercultural, linguistic, and personal competences. By including the staff more, we hoped to implement the European idea in the development of the classes. Based on this we wanted to check if international projects could be conducted via eTwinning or mobilities. A further aspect of our international strategy is the work as partners with our apprenticing companies, which want to send their students abroad with our KA102 project (EBSivt).

Background

As a commercial school situated in a region which is characterized by international business relationships, we considered it indispensable to include not only our students, but also our staff in international activities. By establishing a team responsible for international affairs in 2013, our school pursued a more sustainable strategy of internalization, the benefactors of which was our teaching staff. This strategy of internalization as a field of action and as an agreement of objectives of the school has been firmly fixed with the higher committee since 2017/2018. The team was focused more intensely on European projects and their anchorage in the concept of processes of the school. Activities are the organization and carrying out of Erasmus+ projects for trainees on the one hand. On the other hand, we organized specific mobilities of further education for our staff. By including more staff in the European mobilities, we hoped to create a motivating example for our students to internationalize more themselves. With the introduction of the field of action “Internationalization” the objective of the EBS was clearly stated: an increase in the intercultural professional skills.
