Objectives

The aim of the project was to promote the use of media in schools in two areas: - The knowledge of how to use devices and the possibilities this creates for their own teaching was pursued by attending structured in-service training courses together with other teachers from Europe. In addition, the colleagues were able to gain experience of how digital media are used in other countries and/or types of schools through exchange with other colleagues. - The use of the devices in the classroom could be experienced live during the observation sessions and analysed in the discussion with the teachers at the hospice institutions. These experiences flow into their own teaching, resulting in a change in their own teaching and thus positively changing the teaching development and school development of the participating institutions.

Background

The project was carried out to enable the partners involved to further develop their school development process. The focus was on the use of digital media in primary education. This enables contemporary digital teaching that prepares pupils for life in the digital, European world and enables them to use digital media responsibly. The digitalisation of life leads to an internationalisation of life in all areas of life, as in the digital age national borders are increasingly fading into the background to give way to an international European dimension. The Landesinstitut für Pädagogik und Medien (State Institute for Pedagogy and Media) coordinated the project as the Saarland training institution, which the two schools joined as implementing schools.
