We wanted to outline ways of dealing with demanding situations and provide methods to overcome stressful everyday situations. Apart from that we have quite a few Erasmus projects that teachers and students are involved in that demand being able to communicate with people from different European countries. The students enjoy taking part in them. They are very engaged in these projects and when asked, they will tell you that it is an essential reason why they enjoy attending our school. So the teachers who are responsible for these KA2 projects tried to improve their language skills by taking part in different language courses so that they will be able to continue working successfully in the future.
The job of a teacher is getting more and more challenging: We see us confronted with huge classes, lots of extra hours of work because we have to substitute missing or sick teachers, home schooling and dealing with an increasing number of demanding children. This puts an excessive burden on teachers who additionally have to face problems evolved by the Corona crisis und the Ukrainian conflict. Teachers see themselves overwhelmed by these duties and quite often they have to cope on their own because vigorous support from the official part is missing. Therefore we tried to start a project that keeps an eye on the teacher's health and puts it into focus. But it is not only the staff that suffers under the circumstances but also the students. They had to cope with home schooling and against all odds and difficulties and with little or no support from the officials they had to pass their exams when school started again. On top of that they probably had to cope with difficult family situations caused by the Corona crisis. Whenever they listen to the news they are confronted with bad news like conflicts, climate change, natural disasters etc. This is a lot to cope with for a young person who is still very unstable himself. Therefore it is important to give him as much support as possible.
