Objectives

Our goal of making teaching more individual and taking into account the heterogeneity of the students requires intensive preparation, since learning material is needed at different levels, with different approaches (reading, listening, watching) and from different areas (interest of the students / bilingual subject teaching (CLIL)). In order to accomplish this, we need competences for efficient creation of teaching materials and knowledge about sources, as well as possibilities for editing and use. Switching from teacher-centered to student-centered teaching requires further competences, but especially the courage to do so. By participating in the activities and exchanging with European colleagues, we hoped to gain inspiration for our teaching and for further implementations at our school through best practice examples. An interesting approach is the "Flipped Classroom", which we wanted to learn how to use.

Background

We found that we as teachers lacked concepts and competences in relation to the use of new ICT. Here, our need was also in the area of hardware - but much more in the area of software. We wanted to acquire skills in handling and using apps and tools in the area of digital media. We wanted to learn how to use them in a competent way, and how to integrate them meaningfully into the classroom in order to increase student activity and enable individual and cooperative learning.
