Objectives

One of the key objectives of the school program at the Pestalozzi School in Radeberg is to enable intercultural learning, knowledge about Europe and the improvement of foreign language skills while incorporating a wide range of options. The Pestalozzi School conveys education and training in a European context as a value-related, holistic and consistent teaching principle. We want to educate our students to be cosmopolitan people who take responsibility not only for themselves and their learning, but also for their fellow students and their personal environment take over. The exchange with young people and adults from other countries and cultures as well as the basics of foreign language communication are indispensable for this. The following quality criteria were used to achieve the objective: - Foreign language learning in a European context - Formation of project-oriented partnerships - Personnel qualification and development - Getting to know new teaching and learning methods - Integration of European topics into everyday teaching - Keeping our entire staff up to date with ever faster technological developments

Background

Our school was able to acquire the title of a European school by participating in various European projects. We are proud to have received this award. In the summer of 2022 we received the recertification of the Pestalozzi School in Radeberg as a European school. The title is proof that we have been actively pursuing and living the European guiding principle for many years. Our primary goal is to educate our students to be cosmopolitan people who show foreign cultures towards curiosity, tolerance and respect. That is why it is still extremely important for us to live the European idea in everyday school life and to expand the resulting network with European teachers.
