The training of our pedagogical staff through European job shadowing is a contemporary professional development opportunity for us. Our professionals thus contribute important impulses to the current European discourse on early childhood education. Conversely, the educational offers of the Klax Kitas can be further developed through the new competences, methods and approaches acquired in the jobshadowings. As Klax Berlin gGmbH we wanted to further develop learning with digital media in early childhood education (2-6 years). The focus was on new methods and approaches to promote language development in connection with digital media. 1) Develop approaches and methods to support language development through digital media in early childhood education (2-6 years old) in our institutions. 2) Develop, test and document educational offers / micro-trainings for language support with digital media and make them available to colleagues and the Klax Group 3) train our teachers accordingly in 30 job shadowings in Europe. 4) Educators acquire skills to offer and implement their own methods and approaches to language development and digital media.
For Klax Berlin gGmbH, the expansion of its European network is of great importance. Learning with digital media in pre-school and school education has gained importance within the Klax group since 2014 and is now an important long-term goal of our corporate strategy. We receive impulses on this topic through the maintenance of existing European partnerships with early childhood education institutions in Denmark and Sweden, among others, as well as through a regular European expert dialogue. This allows us to continuously expand our educational concept with regard to the use of digital media and to initiate new educational projects. The need for the use of digital media to support the language development of children in our day care centres became very clear in this process. Therefore, we decided to have this focus in this project. The aim is to strengthen language development in early childhood education through the active use of digital media.
