Objectives

In the next 5 years, we are focusing on the following priorities from today's perspective: - Incorporating the European perspective into our work by learning from pedagogical approaches from other European countries. This includes the modern pedagogy of Reggio Emilia, which is recognized worldwide. It is about getting to know best practice examples in Europe and using them for the pedagogical work in our kindergartens. (In the course of this trip we will therefore also look at pedagogical approaches from Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands). Linked to this is also the goal of bringing the European perspective into our kindergartens. - (Further) development of intercultural competencies among our employees. The children cared for in our facilities have a variety of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We want to support the development of competencies not only through training and counseling, but also through experiencing other European cultures. - Development of our bilingual program to give all children the opportunity to learn another European language at an early age. The implementation of the bilingual offer is immersive, in that a pedagogical specialist from a mostly European country uses their language in everyday activities. The success of this offer usually depends on how well this specialist can be integrated into the team. With this and other European educational offers, we want to strengthen the acceptance for the different perspectives of foreign-language pedagogical specialists and integrate them permanently into our teams.

Background

FRÖBEL Bildung und Erziehung gGmbH is Germany's largest supraregional non-profit provider of daycare facilities for children. In our daycare centers, we rely on the latest findings in early childhood education and also cooperate with various universities and research institutions in this area. In the further development of our educational offers in our kindergartens, we rely on cooperation with a wide variety of partners outside our organization: universities and colleges, companies, institutes. This also includes exchanges with organizations from abroad, especially from other European countries. In this way, we want to continuously develop the quality of our day care centers by learning from other European countries and making ourselves available as learning partners. From today's point of view, we will focus on the following priorities in the next 5 years: - Incorporating the European perspective into our work, in which we learn from pedagogical approaches from other European countries. This includes the modern pedagogy of Reggio Emilia, which is recognized worldwide. It is about getting to know best practice examples in Europe and using them for the pedagogical work in our kindergartens. As a result of this trip, we will also be looking in particular at pedagogical approaches from Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands.
