Objectives

The participants in the European seminars improved intercultural, project management and ICT competencies and are willing to spread the European notion to the teaching staff and students. The attendees in language courses gained more authenticity through contact with native speakers and expanded their repertoire of methods and materials for language lessons. The participants in job-shadowing in Spain extended their repertoire of classroom methods and strengthened the relationship to our partner school so that we can develop a long-term partnership.

Background

The requirements on our school have changed because of the development from regional labour markets to a European labour market. Our school wants to prepare the students for Europe and the European labour market. Therefore, the intercultural, lingustic and the project management competencies of our teachers have been improved. The migration movements in Europe require schools that are open for other cultures and that are prepared for the new intercultural requirements. Intercultural and linguistic skills are a interdisciplinary competence and an essential component of a Europe-minded school. At the same time our teachers had the opportunity to get to know potential project partners personally during training courses and job shadowings to afterwards plan school partnerships and eTwinning projects together.
