Objectives

One goal was systematic personnel development to ensure the quality of teaching and the professionalization of teachers. These newly gained ideas were included in the yearly didactic plan. Knowledge of technical possibilities, software and digital tools was the aim of the learning stays. Another point was the expansion of our internationalization team. Since so far only foreign language teachers have taken part in the Erasmus training courses, we now wanted to address subject teachers from other areas as well. The improvement of digital skills is of enormous importance, especially after Covid 19. How to use flipped classroom models, learning platforms or video conferences should be learned in the training courses. With this project, we not only wanted to further educate the traveling teachers, but the whole college and our school development plan should be carried forward. Thanks to the possibilities learned in the field of digitization, results can now be multiplied and disseminated more easily, so that everyone at our college can participate in these results or methods.

Background

Our school is a technically oriented vocational college. Digitization is an important aspect of our school's life and offers a wide range of opportunities. The Covid 19 pandemic has once again convinced us of the importance of these tools. However, most teachers were not familiar with the use of I-Pads, learning platforms such as Moodle or methods of blended learning.. Due to our recent Erasmus + applications, we have learned that ongoing trainings in the European area is an enrichment for our school. Dealing with digital media is an integral task of teaching and school development. We have received a new building and many classrooms are now equipped with e.g. Smartboards. There is a need to prepare teachers for this challenge professionally. A second point is the imparting of international professional competence. Foreign language skills, intercultural skills, teamwork and digital skills will be of increasing importance for professional careers in the future. Erasmus Plus, with its large number of training courses, offers the ideal environment to prepare our staff for this challenge. The work in international teams in the trainings will support our school and contribute to excellent skills in the field of digitalisation.
