Objectives

The aim of our third project "A school with a strong European background keeps developing still further" was to strengthen our school in the mentioned areas, to offer more colleagues the opportunity to attend teacher trainings all over Europe, to implement the newly-gained knowledge in our school afterwards and to strengthen our project aims. Of greatest concern were for us the strengthening of language competence, more knowledge in the fields of methodology and didactics and the enhancement of contacts with colleagues from all over Europe. Media competence, which had been rather poor among our colleagues before the Corona pandemic started, also due to a lack of proper equipment in our school, was to be improved. And our seminar teachers of chemistry and biology were to take part again in the annual conference of the ASE in England to provide new insights for the MINT subjects. At the time of the application for our third project, a general renovation of our school was about to start, and consequently we were also very interested in getting insights into learning settings in other countries, which we then would be able to introduce at our own school. Several courses we planned to attend included visits at local schools.

Background

After starting our first Erasmus+-KA1-project “A school with a strong European background keeps developing” in 2017, we were very keen on continuing this project beyond 2019 when it was due to end, in order to implement and strengthen the European spirit at our school and to offer many colleagues the opportunity to take part in training courses across Europe. This first project triggered other actions within the European context, like "Europe goes to School", the participation in the European Day in Augsburg and in two etwinning projects, which we probably wouldn't have taken part in without the positive start of our first Erasmus+ KA1-project. We really profited to a high degree from this project. We therefore were very motivated to apply for a second and then third project with similar aims as the first. Both project got accepted by our national agency. Our focus in the application for this third project were: - a focus on foreign languages - an insight into different learning environments - media competence and media didactics - MINT subjects With this third project we wanted to continue in a similar way as we had done with our first project and hoped to implement our aims and the European spirit firmly in our school.
